Sleeping on your back
When you sleep on your back, you give rest to your head, neck, and back. It is the best position to sleep while supporting your body completely. Here the body rests at a neutral position without causing you any discomfort. While sleeping on your back, you provide enough space to the food inside your stomach to move and digest. Moreover, it prevents wrinkles on the face which is a great deal for age conscious people.
Sleeping on your side
Either you sleep on your right side or the left; you are doing yourself a big favor. This position is a benefit to overall health. It will decrease your snoring and maintains the position of your spine. You can also avoid acid reflux while sleeping in this position. Pregnant women are always advised to sleep on their side as you do not put a lot of pressure on your lungs which can cause trouble in breathing they can also use pillow for side sleepers so it will be more comfortable for them.. Sleeping on the left side is more beneficial as the left side has major organs like liver and heart which may get constricted.
Pose for sinus patients
Sinus patients have trouble breathing when they sleep on their back. However, using a pair of the extra pillow will prevent them from discomfort and support their head which clears out the sinus blockage. You can also sleep on your side with an extra pillow under your head, so the sinus does not flow inward, and your nasal passage remains open.
Pose for should pain patients
If you have a hurtful shoulder, then you should sleep on your side with a hugging pose. You can lie on the pain-free side of your shoulder and hug an arm pillow to your chest. This will give support to both the shoulders and give you a peaceful sleep.
Sleeping on stomach
If you have a stiff back due to long sitting hours at the office then sleeping on your stomach will be a preferable position. When you sleep on your stomach with both or one arm rest above your head, then it will be just like giving yourself a natural massage.
Sleeping with folded lower body
People, who have jobs where they have to stand for long hours and deal with customers, must sleep on their back with their lower body folded. This may seem an absurd idea, but this gives your legs and lower body rest from all the cramps and stiffness. You can use a bolster to fold the legs or just twist them at a comfortable position.
